The Confederation of British Industry estimated that the direct cost of absence to UK business was £11.6 billion in 2003, and that up to 15% of this was absence for non-genuine reasons.
In summary

What is it about?
Trying to differentiate between justified and non-genuine absence can be difficult, and there can be serious legal implications, as some ongoing illness can fall into the category of disability. This workshop will help you to make these distinctions, and guide you through a logical plan to manage the various types of absence. The importance of following fair procedures, and the implications of the Disability Discrimination Act will be discussed.
